Nightly Fact Homework
As the students begin to develop understanding of multiplication and division, Mrs. McWilliams and Ms. Coburn will be sending home fact cards with a weekly math log to complete as a part of their daily homework. Here are some activities that you can do with your child in order to practice math facts:
Missing Math
Have a parent say a math fact aloud leaving out one of the numbers.
Ex. 3 x ? = 3 or ? x 1 = 3
Times as Plus
Write each multiplication fact as an addition fact.
Ex. 3 + 3 = 6 , 3 x 2 = 6
Math Story
Create three different stories for three different facts. Tell a parent.
Ex. Billy went to the movie theater and bought one ticket. Then he went back to buy another ticket for Juan. BJ called and Billy made one more trip to get a ticket for him. How many trips to the theater did Billy make? 1 x 3 = 3
Math Bee
Have a parent show you a flash card. You give the answer as fast as you can.
Arrays or Picture Models
Draw and array or picture model for each multiplication fact.
Handwriting Math
Write each fact in your best handwriting
Rainbow Facts
Write out your math facts using all different color crayons, colored pencils, markers or watercolor paint.
